The Legends of the Rocking Dutchman - episode 45
The Rhythm & Blues Chart
Number ones, 1952-1953
It's hit parade time again, today we feature the number ones from March 1952 up to July 1953. And that brings us a very varied mix again, with the doowop sounds of the Clovers, B.B. King with a guitar drenched blues but also with a pop-sounding love song, the gospel-influenced songs of the "Five" Royales and the Dominoes and the one and only version of that great classic Hound Dog from Big Mama Thornton.
