The Legends of the Rocking Dutchman - episode 273
Legends Mix
A lot of the music that I play in themeless shows like this one, come from specials on record labels that I did before. I often have no time to play all of the records of that label, or the tracks are from an album that I didn't have yet - and so that whole album comes with it and I can play from it in shows like this one.
Today, dishwasher Jimmy Witherspoon gets to hear that he's going to play in one of the leading bands of his time, Jay McShann, bassman Slam Stewart gets in the spotlight, the song I Ain't Got Nobody is copyrighted for the third time and Bessie Smith belts out the blues with enough power to dominate an acoustical recording. And more of course.
