The Legends of the Rocking Dutchman - episode 271
Legends Mix
Today's mixed bag has the story of the doowop classic I Love You For Sentimental Reasons, with, as so often is the case, the song more succesful as the group was. The Brown Dots suffered under the ambitions of former Ink Spots member Deek Watson, who wanted to have control over the group, but the other members had ideas of their own, and went on as the Sentimentalists, cooperating extensively with Savannah Churchill.
There's more today - one of the other stories is about the ultimate hepcat's outfit of the early forties, the zoot suit.
