Also today: the self-proclaimed inventor of jazz - and if he had been a little more modest about himself, he would probably have survived the Great Depression as a celebrated musical innovator. Instead, he was largely forgotten when he died, and just much later he was recognized as the influential pianist that he had been. Of course, this is about Jelly Roll Morton.
