The Legends of the Rocking Dutchman - episode 241
Legends Mix
Remember the first time you went on a plane? Were you nervous? Flying nowadays is so common and so safe, that most people board the aircraft as easily as if they walk into their own home. That was another story in 1939 - it wasn't as safe and definitely not as common then. So you can imagine Lionel Hampton being dead nervous for his first flight ever. The tune he was whistling, he made it together with Benny Goodman to the classic Flying Home.
Today also a cook in a barbecue joint, a jam session at the Gennett studio, a jazzmobile that plays the blues and a movie star. So don't forget to tune in.
