The Legends of the Rocking Dutchman - episode 239
Legends Mix
Today's mixed bag of goodies comes with the story of Sister Rosetta Tharpe and how she did her gospels songs, playing her electrical guitar and backed by big bands and performed in sinful nightclubs such as the famous Cotton Club. It made her fall out of favor with the conservative churchgoing crowd, but her fans loved it. Many of the greats of rock 'n roll loved her too and credit her for being a great inspiration.
Today you'll also get a bonus track - I seldomly manage to squeeze 18 tracks in the hour. Guess I finally learned not to talk too much.
