The Legends of the Rocking Dutchman - episode 16
Legends Mix #4
I was browsing through a pile of 80s albums with re-releases of forties and fifties stuff today and I compiled this mixed bag of goodies from it. And I'll serve them with the usual trivia about the singers and their recordings. This time I will promote one of the obscurest artists into a Legend and I'll do the same with the maker of the greatest R&B hit of all times, together with his unknown brother. I'll play less well-known songs of some of the great forerunners of Rock 'n Roll and end with the last instrumental recorded in 1947, five minutes before the recording ban started, that the American Federation of Musicians had announced for 1948. I'd say, enough to listen to!
