The Legends of the Rocking Dutchman - episode 159
Leftovers
Today I go back to some of my older shows on record labels, and I play music that I couldn't include in that show. Most of them are flipsides of the tracks I did play. Not necessarily B-sides - I didn't play just A's in my older shows. Add to that, up to the forties the mentioning of an A and B side on the label wasn't common practice.
I end with two tunes that never have been records - a soundie (a forties video clip to be viewed in a dedicated coin machine) and a recording done for the AFRS Jubilee show, the radio program aimed at the African American units of the armed forces during the war and its aftermath.
