The Legends of the Rocking Dutchman - episode 123
Legends Mix
The Legends mix of today truly is a blend of great music and colorful stories. We have a bluesman who did a bad deal with the devil, on a crossroads in Mississippi, not far from the place where one of the greatest female blues singers of all times had her fatal car accident - and the tragic story fed myths about how segregation would have caused her to die. Then there's that elderly lady who was sent off for retirement from nursing when nobody believed her lies on her age anymore - and so at the age of 81 she resumed the musical career she had left some 20 years before. Of course there's stories about the music too - like why everyone tried to mimick Nat King Cole and a how to make a blues from a hillbilly classic.
