The Legends of the Rocking Dutchman - episode 118
Legends Mix
The lives of many bluesmen are full of stories that add up to legendary proportions - and that also counts for today. Lightnin' Hopkins is like that - when the blues and folk revival came, the white audience saw him as the ultimate blues man, and Hopkins easily contributed to that telling his life story in interviews, adding a bit more colorful details than how it really happened.
Then there's the story of Leroy Carr who died of alcohol abuse when he was thirty years old - and a long time friend who did three tribute songs to him. Apart from the stories there's the music - of course - 'cause I know you came here for the music in the first place.
