The Legends of the Rocking Dutchman - episode 104
Legends Mix
Today's mixed bag of tunes brings us too many blues - at least that's what we start with. There are some nice contrasts in today's selection. Blues as they got popular and most people have them in their mind, versus dirty blues of the thirties. A banjo solo turning into a small-combo swing number. Bluesmen who lived in poverty and one who drove up from Memphis to Chicago with his pockets full of money. And one of the greatest on the saxophone - dishonorably discharged from the army.
